Meet Aron! This gentle one-year-old pup has quickly melted his foster family’s hearts with his sweetness, intelligence, and deep love for his people. Though he arrived a bit shy, he has been blossoming more each day, becoming more confident, cuddly, and curious as he adjusts to home life. Aron is a true velcro dog—he loves being close to his humans, curling up beside them (or on the bed if allowed), and soaking up all the affection he can. He’s also very well-mannered in the house and has done great with housetraining, aside from learning that the basement is not an outdoor bathroom. He’s a smart boy who will even bark at the door if he isn’t quite finished going outside.Aron is crate-trained enough to go in willingly, especially at mealtimes, and has even been found napping in his crate on his own. However, he does get stressed if crated and left alone, so his foster is working on helping him feel more comfortable with short, gradual sessions. He is very food-motivated, responds beautifully to gentle guidance, and is picking up training quickly—he already knows sit, spin, and fetch, and is thriving with clicker training. He’s incredibly smart, eager to please, and enjoys using his brain just as much as he loves cuddling.On leash, Aron is a dream. He walks nicely, rarely pulls, and checks in with his foster often. He’s calm and polite around other dogs and people, and did wonderfully at a busy rugby game—snuggling beside his foster and greeting friendly strangers with a wagging tail. His energy level is medium; he enjoys bursts of playtime, especially with his rope toy or ball, but also loves naps, calm time, and being near his favorite humans.Aron is currently being slowly introduced to the resident cat. He is mostly cautious and avoids her, though he can become overstimulated and bark when he’s overly excited. With breaks, decompression time, and slow introductions, he has done well, and with continued training, he could do fine in a cat household. He’s also met polite dogs and does best with gentle, calm canine friends, though he would also thrive as the only pet in a home, especially with someone who works from home or spends a lot of time at home.Aron is a sweet, snuggly, and sensitive boy who simply wants to be loved and feel safe.
