Meet Groot
If you’re looking for a goofy, cuddly, fun-loving best friend, Groot might be the perfect match. This handsome brindle boy is young, full of life, and happiest when he’s right by your side. He has no concept of personal space — in the best way — and will gladly curl up on your shoulder, gazing at you with the sweetest eyes until he drifts off to sleep.
Groot starts his mornings with a burst of energy, making it the perfect time for a walk, game of fetch, or a round of tug. Once he’s had his playtime, he settles beautifully into snuggles and relaxation. He adores chew toys, peanut butter Kongs, hide-and-seek games, and spending time with other dogs.
This boy is as smart as he is sweet. He’s crate trained and knows several commands, including sit, down, off, leave it, and crate. He’s still polishing up “roll over” and working on taking treats gently, but he’s eager to learn and thrives on encouragement. More than anything, he’s learning that his people will always come back for him — and that knowledge makes him more confident every day.
Groot loves both kids and dogs, though his rough-and-tumble play style and occasional mouthiness can be a bit much for very small children or calm, older dogs. He would do well as an only dog or with a high-energy canine friend who can match his enthusiasm.
He does have his quirks — loud household gadgets like vacuums or leaf blowers aren’t his favorite, but he feels safe and secure when given a little crate time during those moments.
What stands out most about Groot is his big, affectionate heart. He is endlessly loving, loyal, and just wants to be close to his people.
Groot is looking for an active household where he can burn off his puppy energy, enjoy plenty of playtime, and then curl up for the snuggles he craves. If you’re ready for a best friend who’s equal parts silly, smart, and sweet, Groot might just be your guy.
Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
