Meet kodiak
Kodiak is a beautiful, sweet, and lovable dog who has completely stolen the hearts of myself and my family over the past four years. This decision is incredibly difficult, but I’ve come to realize that Kodiak needs a different environment in order to thrive.
While she is wonderful in so many ways, Kodiak has had issues getting along with our other female dog, Presley (a dachshund). The first incident happened after about a year, and while we thought it was an isolated situation, she unfortunately attacked Presley again in October 2024, which required medical care. During that same week, there was a second incident. Since then, we’ve kept the dogs separated, but I feel this has only increased her frustration toward Presley, even through the crate.
We also have a small male dog, Bandit, and we believe the conflict between Kodiak and Presley is related to them both trying to establish dominance. We worked with a trainer and received tools to help Kodiak, but due to a very difficult 2025
