Meet bojangle

I was rescued by a nice family because someone dumped me in the woods near their home in October 2024 and when they found me in their driveway I was starving and you could tell. They took me to a vet to get scanned and asked around many outlets to find my original owner but no one claimed me nor wanted me and no microchip was found either. I wasn't aggressive and never have been just really scared of what’s next for me. I am assumed to be part pit and part mountain cur male dog.

I made friends with the family the first day especially after they fed me. They took me inside where I became crate trained and have not gone to the bathroom in the house at all. I go to the door when I need to go out. They taught me many commands and took me exploring to many places. I have learned how to sit, come, get down, lay down, go to my house (aka my crate), go to bed, and get up. I'm still working on some of these on my leash in public. If I see wildlife I do get distracted on my leash and I want to go check it out so I pull on the leash. When I do that just say “no” “laydown” and pull my leash and I usually listen. I do get a little bit of separation anxiety when my family leaves for the day but I can be left alone in my crate as long as I have my toy and a bone to chew with dog tv playing on YouTube. I do have spurts of energy throughout the day so I would love a fenced yard to just zoom around freely. I do like to play chase me/come get my toy from me outside. A lot of the day though I'm happy just laying by my favorite person or outside in the shade with a stick to chew. I do like attention and affection and I get sad and mopey when I’m ignored. Just proves how much I love you.

After much traveling I have become not as scared of other dogs but still question them at first. I prefer dogs my own size or a tad smaller than me to play with. I just need to be slowly introduced to them and supervised at first. I have been around kids before but I'm unaware of my size at times and do jump when I'm excited. I guess I just don’t realize my own size yet. I would love to have a loving forever home and I would be your best friend always and forever by your side!
