Meet Luca!

A devoted five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd mix currently living in Huntington Beach, CA, whose essence is a blend of soulful loyalty, gentle affection, and joyful curiosity all wrapped in a striking black coat with charming white accents.

Luca is a big-hearted boy, weighing in at 85 pounds of pure companionship! He’s the kind of pup who lights up when he sees his people, tail wagging like a banner of excitement. If Luca had a love language, it would be physical touch. He thrives on connection, adores cuddles, and will happily lean into your legs for a good ear scratch or belly rub!

He’s a playful adventurer who loves fetch, exploring new scents, and taking in the world around him. But don’t be fooled, Luca is just as content snoozing in the sun after a good play session. He’s learned basic commands like “come” and “down,” and thanks to time spent with a skilled behaviorist, he's made big strides in confidence and calmness.

Luca currently lives peacefully with a sweet female dog and is incredibly gentle with her, even when she gets a little bossy! That said, he's still learning how to navigate the world of unfamiliar dogs. Busy areas or on-leash greetings with reactive pups can make him nervous, so a quiet setting with space to decompress is where he truly shines.

His ideal new family? Someone experienced and patient, who can continue the positive reinforcement practices that have already helped him so much. He’d do well in a peaceful home with a large, secure yard, preferably one without too many canine neighbors peeking through fences. He might enjoy the company of a calm, compatible dog, or he could be your one-and-only snuggle buddy.

Luca is house-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He’s also great with young kids and friendly to strangers, especially if those strangers have treats or a good petting hand!
