Meet godiva

Meet Godiva – Small Dog, Big Personality, Endless Fun!

If you're looking for a dog who’s equal parts energy and affection, Godiva is your girl! She may be small in size, but she’s got the heart and spirit of a big dog. While she can be shy at first with new people, once trust is built, Godiva will become your loyal shadow and personal foot warmer.

This playful pup thrives on:
• Long hikes and outdoor adventures
• Intense games of tug-of-war
• Zooming around the yard-- agility dog anyone?
• Brain games and puzzle toys

And when the fun is done? Godiva knows how to switch gears. She’s a pro at finding a cozy spot and will happily curl up beside you to relax and recharge.

She is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, and currently working on becoming more comfortable with car rides. With continued patience and positive experiences, she’s learning that car rides often lead to exciting new places!

Social Skills & Foster Experience
Godiva has been successfully fostered with both a small dog and a cat. She showed respectful behavior, and when her foster siblings weren't in the mood to play, she redirected her energy toward toys instead. When properly introduced, she’s also done well meeting other small dogs—playing and sharing toys and food without resource guarding from humans or other dogs.

Who She's Looking For
Godiva will thrive with an experienced dog owner who understands the traits common to her likely breed mix of Miniature Pinscher and Dachshund.
As a likely former stray, Godiva may interpret the world as unpredictable or even unsafe—but with the right support, that story can be rewritten. Through consistent reconditioning and positive reinforcement, she’s learning that new experiences, people, and places don't have to be scary. She'll benefit from slow, positive introductions to new people and dogs to help her build healthy confidence. With patience and encouragement, Godiva is beginning to build a healthier, more confident narrative of the world.
Due to her excitable, mouthy play style, Godiva would do best in a home with children aged 12 and up. She responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, high-value treats, praise, and patient reconditioning.

Why Godiva?
Because she’s the total package: devoted, attentive, adventurous, and just the right amount of spunk! In the right home, Godiva will blossom into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for.
