I’ve been waiting for my forever home, and I have a feeling it’s worth waiting for!

Hi, I’m Wally.

I’m about 40 pounds of scruffy fluff with a smile that people say makes me look like a teddy bear. I may not be the first dog everyone picks, but I’m hoping I’ll be the dog who’s perfect for someone.

Like a lot of rescue dogs, I have a past that nobody knows all the details of. Whatever happened before I was rescued taught me to be a little cautious at first, but it never took away my ability to love.

One thing I’ve noticed? The people who take the time to get to know me always seem to have a hard time saying goodbye. They all tell me the same thing…

“He’s such a sweet boy.”

I’ve handled a lot of change recently, and through it all I’ve done my best. I’ve met new people, walked nicely on my leash, accepted plenty of pets, and stayed close to kind humans while I figured everything out.

Now, because I really hope my next home is my forever home, I want to be honest about what I’m looking for.

I’ll do best with a patient adopter. Men can make me nervous, so I’d likely be happiest with a female adopter or someone willing to let me build trust at my own pace. I also need a home without young children, cats, or small dogs because of my prey drive. I may do well with the right easygoing female dog after careful introductions, but I’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only.

My wish list may be a little more specific than some dogs’, but that doesn’t make me any less deserving of a family.
