NAME:  Cataleya BREED:  Terrier mix SEX:  Female COLOR:  black/brown/white AGE:  2 yrs as of June 2026 WEIGHT:  14 lbs Meet Cataleya!  Cataleya is a 2-year-old Terrier mix weighing 14 pounds, with a bright mind, an adventurous spirit, and a heart that's still learning that the world can be a safe place. This beautiful girl is incredibly smart. Give her a puzzle, a challenge, or a new adventure, and she's ready to put her brain to work. Cataleya loves learning, exploring, and figuring things out. She's the kind of dog who pays attention to everything and is always thinking one step ahead. While Cataleya can be shy with new people, her caution comes from uncertainty, not aggression. When she's nervous, she may let out a high-pitched squeal or even flash her front teeth as if to say, Please give me a minute! But she's never bitten anyone. She simply needs a little time and patience to realize you're a friend. Once Cataleya understands that you're not going to hurt her, she relaxes and begins to show her sweet and curious personality. Cataleya is happiest in a calm, predictable environment where she feels secure. She actually enjoys her crate and often sees it as her safe place. Unlike many dogs, she's not particularly interested in spending long periods outdoors and would much rather be inside with her people once she's had a chance to stretch her legs. She's also a bit of an athlete. In fact, Cataleya can climb a chain-link fence, so any future family will need to keep that impressive talent in mind when managing outdoor time. Cataleya gets along with other dogs, although she's more independent than social butterfly. She'll play occasionally, but she's generally more focused on doing her own thing than joining every canine party. What Cataleya needs most is a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned. Someone who will let her move at her own pace, celebrate her victories, and appreciate the incredible bond that develops when a shy dog learns she's finally home. The best things in life are'nt always immediate. Sometimes they're earned one small moment at a time. And Cataleya is absolutely worth the wait.
