Kai is a small dog with a big personality. He may be hard of hearing, which means he can be easily startled by sudden movements. Kai is an independent “grumpy old man” who prefers attention and handling on his own terms—he will politely approach you when he wants pets, and otherwise enjoys simply coexisting peacefully.
He is comfortable wearing collars and enjoys walks, but prefers them over harnesses. Kai is generally social with other dogs; however, he has shown some guarding tendencies around certain surfaces, such as beds and couches.
