Troy is a smart, funny, enjoyable dog. He is a quick-thinker and very playful and energetic. He somehow plays to the audience while on the leash and is a show-stopper. Handsome and confident, with an engaging smile and a variety of expressive ear positions! #charisma   Troy takes treats carefully but firmly :) and his eyes are continually dancing as he is very happy to meet (and impress) new friends. He is irresistible and needs a breed-savvy guardian who'll guide him to reach his very best potential. May excel at not only obedience but agility?   Troy has played well with some similar-sized herding breed dog friends - after careful introduction by trainers. His confidence has helped to encourage shy new dogs to join in the fun. However, Troy can appear relaxed yet be suddenly assertive, so needs a home with Aussie-savvy adult guardians where he can be the center of attention. While he is likely able to navigate older, polite children, he needs adults to make decisions for him.   Troy will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Our adoptions begin with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements.
