Fergus is shy and reserved around new people, and he does best in a quiet, single-family home with minimal visitors. Apartment or condo living isn't a good fit for him, as unexpected encounters with strangers can be overwhelming and stressful for him.
Once Fergus feels safe and secure, his true personality shines. He is a total sweetheart who loves being close to his people and quietly keeping them company. Fergus isn't looking for an active lifestyle-he'd much rather relax at your feet or nap in a cozy spot than head out for long walks.
Fergus is dog-friendly with slow, thoughtful introductions. In his foster home, he lives successfully with several other dogs and enjoys lounging on the couch and hanging out in the yard with them. A home with existing dogs can be a great fit for Fergus, as long as the resident dogs are calm and non-reactionary and the adopter is committed to taking introductions at his pace.
