Meet meri
Meet Meri, a 4-month-old terrier-mix tripod with a spirit that has been put to the test and truly can’t be broken.
Meri’s foster mom used to think Meri was the luckiest little puppy in the world. She was born at a nice home and then came to live with her foster mom at 6 weeks old. She never knew the shelter or the streets or what it was like to go without food. Then one day, her luck ran out.
Meri’s foster mom heard her screaming in pain right outside the back door. Meri had somehow shattered her elbow. Amputation was the best option for poor Meri, but she handled being in a splint and then surgery with such grace.
She’s still a joyous girl who loves life and gets around like she did when she had all four legs.
Meri is potty trained, crate trained and an overall good girl. She’s not a barker and ignores people who walk by her foster home.
Meri’s foster mom is looking for the perfect forever home that will continue to bring joy to Meri’s life. Nothing lights Meri up more than being around another dog. She is absolutely obsessed with the other dogs in her foster home. She wants to lick their faces and cuddle up to them. We want her forever home to have another dog in it who would love Meri as much as she would love them.
Her ideal home would also have a fenced yard and a human who is understanding of whatever her limitations may be as a tripod — although we have hopes Meri will still be able to conquer most obstacles in life with a smile on her face. Despite what has happened, she is still merry, and she’s still Meri.
