This handsome boy has been on an incredible journey—he started as a terrified street dog, but he has blossomed into an amazing adventure buddy who loves life and the people he trusts!Oatmeal is the definition of a slow burn. While he might bark at new faces visiting the house, he comes around quickly once properly introduced. Once comfortable, his true personality shines: he's incredibly goofy, playful, and will follow his trusted people anywhere! He has even advanced to letting strangers pet him while out on walks or in dog-friendly stores.Oatmeal thrives with a canine companion. He is wonderfully dog friendly and does best when he has a four-legged pal to help him be brave. His favorite thing in the world is to play with other dogs—he can happily go for hours!Oatmeal is a great houseguest and is otherwise perfectly behaved around the house—he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't! Because he is still overcoming his past, he does not do well when kenneled or separated from his dog friends. If he gets highly stressed by a lot of new people, he can regress and have accidents, so he needs a calm environment and a family who understands his need for gradual introductions.Oatmeal's favorite activities are hikes and anything outdoors.
