Patty Cake has an easy, loose, wiggly energy. She looks you right in the eye, trusts you implicitly, and attaches herself quickly to new friends. Her human friends are everything to her.

And, right now, Patty Cake is living the dream as an only dog in her foster home, after many months in the shelter. And, it turns out, she’s kinda perfect! Her foster writes, “She is obedient, knows some tricks, likes to cuddle, likes to play and very soft play, she doesn't even bark, she’s potty trained, she doesn't break stuff.”

Patty Cake needs to be the only dog in her home. She’s able to pass other dogs on leash without a hint of drama. But, she sometimes gets over-excited and pulls in their direction. She wears a harness that helps with the excitement-pulling, but she'll need an adult or teen with a little bit of upper body strength to help her slow down and relax. She's already made huge progress.

In return for allowing her to be your singular ride-or-die, Patty will be the most affectionate roommate you've ever had.

Her foster says,

"She loves to cuddle so much, anytime she can she want to be petted and hugged and she's so sweet , I take a lot of naps on the couch with her a few times a week and when she is freshly bathed we let her sleep on the bed with us for a few nights, then she's off to her own big bed by our bedside with her stuffed toy. "

Patty would also be a great training partner, if you like to run or walk or want to get in better shape. Her foster says they walk every day, "Depending on our schedule we take her on walks 5 times a day, most around 20 to 40 min each and if our schedule happens to be very (not likely) we will walk her 3 times for 15 to less than 30 min each. She of course does better on longer walks, she likes sniffing around everywhere and she likes running too.

Patty has gained some much needed weight in her foster home, and she’s gaining confidence, too. Her foster says, “At the start it was hard to get her to play, but after a while she started being playful, she has a very peaceful personality. Sometimes I have a have tickle fights with my husband  and if she hears someone say stop or anything she tries getting in between us and  just puts a sad face, it's like asking us to stop fighting even tho its a game. We find it very cute and just reassure her with  some cuddles and she starts playing with us, she definitely likes attention and she loves treats, she snores sometimes when she is really tired it's light and very cute.”

Patty Cake is a five-star fetch player, incredible to watch. She adores fetch, and she is so open and eager to learn new things.

Her foster says, “I have been working on tricks with her at the house and while I'm walking her, with really small treats, she sits, she lays down, she crawls, she gives both paws, she jumps, she catches, she spins, and right now I'm currently working on "look at me" to maintain concentration while we walk when she starts sensing another animal (because she has really good smell), "find" to find treats i hide, and "wait/slow" when she starts pulling her leash.”
