Corduroy has been waiting a long time.

Corduroy has been with SNARL for about three and a half years. In that time, he has been adopted a few times, and each time, for one reason or another, it just didn’t work out. One family moved and didn’t take him with them. Other situations ended because his adopters weren’t able or willing to work through the things he needed help with.

The hard part is that those things have been worked through and it didn't take much.

The Corduroy we know today is truly one of the best dogs we have available, and we honestly don’t understand why more people haven’t given him a chance.

He is affectionate, loyal, playful, incredibly loving, and happiest when he gets to be part of his person’s life. He loves playing fetch, enjoys a good snuggle, and will gently put his paw in your hand when he wants some attention. He is obedience trained, eager to please, and can be left home alone.

He can live with other dogs, but he really shines when he gets to have his people to himself. He loves having a routine, being included in daily life, and knowing that he belongs.

And this is the part we really want people to understand: Corduroy does not need someone to “fix” him. He needs someone to give him a chance.

He does not do well in boarding, and after spending so much of his life waiting, that is especially hard for him. What he does well with is a home, consistency, companionship, and someone who is committed to him.

We have had only a handful of applications for Corduroy over the years, and none of them have been the right fit. Meanwhile, this incredibly loving dog keeps waiting.

We know there is someone out there who is going to meet Corduroy and wonder how they ever lived without him.

Maybe it’s you.

He doesn’t need a perfect person or a perfect home. He just needs someone who will give him a real chance and, this time, make the commitment to stay.

Corduroy is ready. He has been waiting long enough.
