At the shelter he quickly won hearts with his gentle nature, love of slow strolls, and his fondness for pausing mid-walk to soak up some snuggles. He has a great “sit,” takes treats tenderly, and is a steady, comforting presence.In his foster home, Moose has continued to shine. He is fully housetrained and politely lets his foster family know when he needs to go outside. He’s been left uncrated when home alone and has earned that trust — no chewing or mischief, just a cozy nap on the bed or peacefully watching the world go by through the window. He doesn’t react to people or animals outside; he’s just quietly curious.Moose is a lovely walking buddy who enjoys relaxed-paced strolls. The only things that catch his attention are squirrels and deer – he’ll stop to watch them and may offer a gentle pull if they’re close, but he’s easily redirected. He’s polite when passing other dogs and people and may wag his tail in hopes of a little attention.He has also been a perfect gentleman with visitors. Moose greeted his foster’s parents at the door with a wagging tail, no barking, and no jumping — just a calm, happy hello. He loves people, welcomes gentle pets, and offers plenty of affection in return. He is a snuggler at heart and loves being near his humans, whether that means leaning in for head rubs or curling up for a nap.Moose seems to already know basic commands like “sit,” “no,” and “go to your bed.” He enjoys puzzle toys and is food-motivated in the sweetest way. His energy level is low to medium — mostly calm and chill, with happy bursts of excitement for walks or exploring new paths with his foster mom. He even dressed up as a very handsome vampire for Halloween and took it all in stride!Moose has met other dogs and can be selective, preferring gentle, laid-back companions, so a meet-and-greet is recommended to make sure it’s a good fit.
