Trainer Bio

I am a certified professional dog trainer and work with obedience and behavior issues in both classroom and private sessions. After completing a program at a rigorous, science-based dog training school, I participated in several dog training internships in Austin as well as three levels of dog behavior and training at the Humane Society, where I volunteered. My longstanding Yoga practice and yoga teaching skills enable me to maintain an even temperament while working with the challenging behavior problems of some dogs, and helps me provide calming coping advice to frustrated dog owners and help reactive dogs to be model citizen as a result of conscientious and consistent behavior modification. My goal as a dog trainer is to teach dogs to live more harmoniously with their humans. Dogs have their own set of canine-specific behaviors, and have to be taught by us to live cooperatively and peacefully in our environment. I use reward based training to create stronger bonds between owners and their dogs, and teach owners to implement humane consequences to reinforce more desirable behavior. This approach cultivates their trust in us as pack leader. Training can be enjoyable, relationship-building, and rewarding for both dogs and people.
