Trainer Bio

My name is Mackenzie Duplechin, and I am a force free trainer with a strong focus on functional dog training. I know that training should always prioritize a dog’s emotional and physical wellbeing, and I believe in creating an environment where dogs feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. I specialize in teaching skills that allow dogs to thrive in our human worldthings like recall, cooperative care, confidence building, and neutrality around distractions. My training is built on trust and connection, because when a dog learns to love learning, the results are stronger and more lasting. I am also a huge proponent of functional dog training. The world we bring dogs into is not built for themit’s full of challenges like traffic, strollers, loud vacuums, and limited access to nature. My goal is to give dogs the education and tools they need to navigate that world with confidence, while ensuring their needs and instincts are met. My own service dog, Graham, has been one of my greatest teachers and a daily reminder of the impact dogs have on our lives. At the heart of everything I do, I want to create training experiences that are ethical, functional, and deeply rewardingfor both ends of the leash!
