Trainer Bio

Hi! I’m Kieran, and I would love to help you and your pets. I have over a decade of experience in animal care, training, and behavior through my independent pet care work and positions with the Cleveland APL, Friendship APL, and Geauga Rescue Village. Working in shelters gave me the chance to learn hands-on in a broad range of medical and behavioral areas. I have sought out numerous professional educational opportunities to further my learning and am currently a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. My passion lies not only in helping pets, but also in helping people. There is a lot of guilt and pain in the shelter world for both people and animals. I’ve seen many dogs brought to the shelter by heartbroken owners that feel they don’t have access to resources or don’t know where to go for help. Most people do not want to give up their pets- most people feel that they have no other option. Over the years, it became obvious to me how interconnected animal suffering was with human suffering. I want to help families figure out how to stay together. I want to prevent a potential shelter dog from ever getting to the point of surrender in the first place, and I want to make the process as painless as possible (literally and figuratively) for the whole household. That’s why I ultimately left sheltering to start my own training company. At Positive Choice, we believe that training should be an enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. We prioritize methods centered around relationship building and cooperation between all members of the household. From puppy lessons to behavior consultations, Positive Choice utilizes force-free methods to address a variety of needs, promoting harmony between pets and people – no pain, intimidation, or fear necessary.
