Certified Dog Trainer

Trainer Bio

Jessica Ring holds certifications as a Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), and Puppy Start Right Instructor, and is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). With over ten years of experience in training service dogs, conducting basic to advanced obedience classes, behavior modification, and puppy socialization, Jessica employs reward-based training techniques. These techniques are designed to foster a strong, trusting, and empathetic bond between the dog and its owner. She instructs volunteer Puppy Raisers on using positive reinforcement for training, oversees a foster program for shelter dogs, and conducts both virtual and in-person classes to address behavioral issues. Emphasizing Positive Reinforcement, Jessica believes that understanding what each dog finds reinforcing is crucial. Teaching dogs how to earn rewards and make decisions is key, as is educating humans that force, pain, and punishment are harmful and can deteriorate the human-dog relationship.
