Trainer Bio

Hello, I am Deb and I consider myself a dog nerd! I’ve been passionate about dogs my entire life and have been working with dogs professionally for over 13 – working at daycares, house sitting, dog walking and training. I took a brief break from working with dogs to pursue a career as a professional project manager working in the pet food innovation space, but ultimately I missed working with dogs! After years of studying dog behavior and training, and working with other professional trainers to address challenges with my own dogs, I decided to give training professionally a try and spent my weekends teaching group classes. In my part time role teaching classes, I discovered a joy for helping humans find better connections with their dogs, and after only 1.5 of years of part-time teaching I made the move to full time professional dog trainer and haven’t looked back since! It is my passion in life to help humans gain a better understanding of dogs and support the canine-human bond. I am education forward and do my best to stay well informed and up to date on the latest information and best practices in dog behavior, training and ethology. In a world of misinformation, it is important to me to cut through the confusion and provide my clients with accurate, meaningful information. I specialize in breaking down challenging problems and helping clients find meaningful, accessible, and sustainable solutions that do not involve coercive or aversive techniques. I understand first hand how overwhelming, emotional and frustrating it can feel to live with a dog whose behavior you you don’t understand or don’t have the resource to deal with effectively. Whether you are overwhelmed by a new puppy, an unruly adolescent or complex fear, reactivity or aggression, I am here to offer support and guidance.
