Trainer Bio

Hi! My name is Aubrie. I am a lifelong animal lover with a passion for helping people connect with their non-human friends. Originally from Indianapolis, I got my first dog when I was four. I immediately fell in love with training, and it became a regular occurrence for me. Throughout my young adult life, I was in the vet med scene as a vet assistant. Not only did I have the chance to gain knowledge on animal behavior and training with dogs and cats but exotics too! I learned valuable skills from the medical world but found my real passion is, indeed, training. Today I own 3 beautiful dogs (a husky, German shepherd, and pit bull) that help me practice my passion every day! For almost 4 years as a dog trainer, I have devoted myself to coaching clients about the nature of dogs. As an adult I entered the dog industry at a 60 capacity day care where I learned the nuance of dog socialization and was introduced to dog training. Over the years I have learned many methods of training during my apprenticeships, the last one being positive reinforcement training. Moving up from daycares, I wanted to hone in my skills by making training a full-time job. Training at a facility for service dogs, positive reinforcement stuck out to me because the primary focus is on minimizing stress and finding common language between human and animal. I believe the relationship between an animal and human is very important. Every individual is different, which is why I customize every behavior plan for each session. The training process is about connection and communication, so my job is to facilitate that, I always want my clients to enjoy their sessions and feel secure with me as their trainer!
