During a visit to the VA clinic, I was struck by a poster depicting a soldier and a K9 with the poignant caption “who saved who”. This resonated with my experience volunteering at animal rescues and shelters, prompting me to take a significant step. With a decade of experience in Human Resources behind me, I embraced my true passion and pivoted to a career change. My journey includes over five years of volunteering at rescue shelters, conducting puppy day school sessions, leading group classes for ‘puppy start right’ programs, and facilitating CGC certification for dogs over six months. I’ve earned a K9 First Aid and CPR certification from Winnegamie Dog Club and am a staunch proponent of reward-based training and clicker techniques, which have consistently yielded positive outcomes.
