Cynthia W. Dog Trainer Bio

Hi there! I came to Pomona from Portland, OR in June 2024, so I am new here but old in the training world, having graduated from Oberlin College with a BA in neuroscience and biology in 2012, and from the Dog Training Internship Academy in 2014. Since then, I have worked as a professional off-leash dog walker, positive reinforcement dog trainer, and pet supply expert. I’m known for my calm and caring demeanor and for cracking puns (aka “dad jokes”). I especially enjoy working with dogs and puppies on fundamentals, tricks, impulse control, reactivity, and adjusting to children in the home. I feel the key to great training is understanding–I strive to understand the full picture of the behavior(s) you want to work on with your dog, and then help you understand the best way to make that happen. I’m an advocate for both you and your dog, and this will be a team effort to get the results you want.
