I love walks, playing fetch, and spending time with other dogs, but I’m just as happy stretched out on the couch while you read. I’m embarrassed to tell you, but in the spirit of starting our relationship with honesty: On my first day out of the shelter, after six months getting restless in a kennel, I got overstimulated when my foster mom came home. In the chaos of the rest of the pack greeting her, I bit her on the ankle. My foster parents forgave me, and with a little training and thoughtful introductions, I haven’t done anything like this again. Once I decompressed and got into the groove with the family, everything clicked, and I’ve settled into a steady, reliable, happy dog they’re proud of. I hope you don’t hold this against me.
